Yorkshire business boosts Pocklington school Christmas raffle
22 December 2020
Persimmon Homes Yorkshire team has helped a Pocklington junior school to enhance its outdoor classrooms.
The Fulford team donated a luxury festive hamper to Pocklington Community Junior School’s Christmas raffle.
The school was aiming to raise sufficient funds for a shelter to make its outdoor learning space accessible in all weathers and also fencing to help create a dedicated wildlife area.
Kelly Lloyd from the Friends of Pocklington Community Junior School (PTA group) said: “We work hard to raise funds to boost the school’s educational offering and, as the current pandemic has put a stop to many of our usual fundraising activities, we really appreciate when companies like Persimmon Homes to step in and help.”
Scott Waters, managing director designate of Persimmon Homes Yorkshire, said: “Fundraising the traditional way has become increasingly difficult for many, so we are happy to support where we can.”
Other groups looking for support are encouraged to apply to the Persimmon Homes Community Champions initiative which seeks to support grassroots groups and charities in areas where the company is building.
Persimmon Homes Yorkshire makes two donations of up to £1,000 every month to worthy causes and all applications are made on online by visiting www.persimmonhomes.com/charity
