Yorkshire duo gain national recognition
09 February 2022

Two skilled and dedicated employees from Persimmon Homes Yorkshire have each been nominated for a national award.
The Persimmon Achievers programme invites its regional businesses to nominate stand-out individuals in various categories, with the overall national winners to be announced soon.
Trainee assistant site manager Ryan Baron, from Hull, has been nominated for the Unsung Hero award while Emma-Rose Bland, trainee quantity surveyor from York, is hoping to claim the Business Trainee of the Year title.
Praised for his hard work and customer relations, Ryan joined the Yorkshire regional business in 2018 as a maintenance operative within the customer care department.
After expressing a desire to become a site manager Ryan worked tirelessly to complete his qualifications and learn from his colleagues. He completed his Level 4 NVQ and is now an assistant site manager at the Charles Church development, Harland Gardens in Cottingham - a sister brand to Persimmon Homes.
New recruit Emma-Rose Bland joined Persimmon Homes Yorkshire in early 2021 as an agency temp and instantly demonstrated endless enthusiasm and business acumen, resulting in her securing the trainee quantity surveyor role.
Scott Waters, managing director for Persimmon Homes Yorkshire, said: “We are thankful and take great pride in the outstanding work done by these individuals. Ryan and Emma have an excellent can-do approach with determination to succeed so are perfect candidates for these awards.
“Ryan is very approachable and always keen to help which are essential skills on site. He has a very natural rapport with customers and goes above and beyond to ensure tasks are successfully completed and we have received numerous customer comments to support this. His eagerness to learn makes him a respected team player. We are sure he has a good future with Persimmon.
“In such a short time Emma has certainly made her mark. Her enthusiasm was evident from the start and her hard work and professionalism has enabled her to take on more responsibility. She has become a leading example to other junior members.
“The dedication of all our nominees – and the wider teams they represent – is the reason why we can continue to offer wonderful new homes to our customers, despite all the global challenges and uncertainties of the last two years.”
