Yorkshire land deal brings new homes to Hull
22 February 2022
Work is set to start on a new housing development just four miles west of Hull city centre.
Persimmon Homes Yorkshire will create 166 new homes, off Calvert Lane, following the land acquisition prior to Christmas.
The 14.2-acre site will provide a collection of one, two, three and four-bedroom homes, of which 10 per cent will be delivered as affordable homes and a financial contribution will be made to highway improvements.
Scott Waters, managing director for Persimmon Homes Yorkshire, said: “We are pleased to progress our latest site, just four miles west of Hull city centre. The Trinity Pastures development, as it will be known, will feature our latest design-led house types that will provide a new spacious interior layout.
“Surrounded by existing housing, the development will incorporate a one-hectare area of open green space in the centre, which will feature a tree-lined boulevard.
“The development will feature an extensive collection of trees throughout, from unbranched young tree seedlings to much larger more established specimens. Not only will the tree planting, of more than 700, encourage wildlife to the area but will enhance the aesthetics of the development for years to come.
“Our homes in Kingston-Upon-Hull have always been popular and we expect the close proximity to the A164 and A63 with easy access to York, the east coast and beyond will make this development no different.”
Persimmon Homes is working towards beginning infrastructure works in the spring and hoping to launch the development to customers in the late summer.
“As part of our ongoing strategic development across the region, we are continually looking to expand our construction workforce and explore new land opportunities to meet the growing demand for homes,” added Scott.
