Young couple secures Wellingborough dream home with Government scheme

17 February 2022

The first residents at a Wellingborough development have praised the Government’s Help to Buy scheme for allowing them to get ‘more for their money’ with their new property.

Accounts assistant Katie Child, 24, and 25-year-old carpenter, Chelsi Diggin, moved into their new three bedroom home earlier than they ever expected after using the Help to Buy scheme to get them on the property ladder.

They were the first people to visit the Glenvale Park sales office on the day it opened, made the first reservation and were the first customers to collect the keys to their new home.

The couple, who are both local to Wellingborough, chose the property for its great location, close to family and friends, as well as it offering them more space than other properties they had viewed.

“The Saunton house-type really appealed to us as not only did it offer an en-suite to the master bedroom, but we also got a lot larger property then we thought we could ever get thanks to using the Help to Buy scheme.” said Katie.

“There are five different developers in this area, but we are so happy we went with Persimmon – we honestly can’t fault them. When we first viewed the home, we were already sold. On top of the incredibly spacious living room, the sales team were just so lovely and went above and beyond for us. They even offered help towards our legal fees, which just really topped everything.

“With the house being over three storeys, we also have a fantastic view from our skylight on the top floor where you can see for miles across the beautiful nearby scenery.”

The Saunton house style is a three-bedroom property with a large living room, cloakroom and dining kitchen situated on the ground floor. On the first floor are two good-sized bedrooms along with a family bathroom. The main bedroom and ensuite can be found at the top of the house.

Claire Dearsley, sales director for Persimmon Midlands, said: “We are always thrilled to see first time buyers take their initial step onto the property ladder with Persimmon.

“The Help to Buy scheme has helped to make homes more affordable and we are so pleased to welcome Katie and Chelsi into their new property. We are sure that they will love their time here at Glenvale Park and make many happy memories together.”

Located in the attractive market town of Wellingborough, Glenvale Park is surrounded by beautiful countryside whilst still being only a stone’s throw away from everyday amenities.

The development offers a selection of homes from one to four bedrooms making it an ideal location for both first-time buyers and growing families alike. The wider Glenvale Park scheme will also provide a primary school, community hub, nursery, retail area and open space to enjoy.
