A new homes development in Wymondham will include habitat for wildlife along with other ecological measures to support biodiversity.
Work is set to start later this year at the Elm Farm site at Norwich Common, with Persimmon Homes delivering 300 new homes.
Alison Cornish, senior planner for Persimmon Homes Anglia, said: “As part of our commitment to protecting the natural wildlife in and around our development and supporting biodiversity, we will be installing bat and bird boxes throughout the scheme as well as making provision for hedgehogs.”
Elm Farm will comprise two, three, four and five bedroom houses, including affordable homes of which two will be bungalows, at the request of South Norfolk Council. The development will also deliver 2.6ha of open space to include an equipped play area and a network of footpaths.
Alison added: “Naturally, with the current situation, we cannot be certain when construction work will commence on site, but our team will be ready to get going as soon as it is safe to do so.”
Anyone interested in the properties at Elm Farm can register their interest, to receive updates from the development.
