Persimmon Suffolk has pledged to support Southern League Premier Division side Leiston FC with a £1,000 sponsorship.
The club’s Victory Road ground is only a mile from Persimmon’s Buckton Place development which is set to launch later this month.
Ian Hamilton, Persimmon Homes Suffolk director in charge, said: “Whenever we start work in a new town or village, we seek ways to support the local community over and above our planning obligations.”
“Leiston FC provides a focal point for the town, so we are proud to support the Blues and wish them every success in the season ahead.”
Representatives from the Persimmon Suffolk team attended a media day to meet Leiston’s new team and managers Darren Eadie and Chris Wigger.
Andy Crisp, Chairman of Leiston Football Club, added: “We are delighted that Persimmon Homes has agreed to support the Club in the form of sponsorship of the new U18 kit. There is a real emphasis on youth development at the Club, promoting players through the Reserve and U18 teams into the senior squad, so this partnership is very important to us.”
“It is always pleasing to have leading organisations, such as Persimmon Homes, actively involved in the local community and the Club looks forward to building on this relationship.”
Buckton Place, on Saxmundham Road, will provide a range of two, three, four and five bedroom homes to suit a variety of local buyers. The first properties are set to be released for sale on Saturday 26 September.
Persimmon Homes Suffolk operates new build homes developments across Suffolk from its headquarters in Great Blakenham.
