Persimmon Homes has directed one of its monthly charity grants to a small charity sending out care packages to people in need of a morale boost.
Persimmon Homes North West has donated £1,000 to Holly’s Hopeful Packages through its Community Champions scheme, an initiative that makes two donations a month to local charities and good causes.
Holly’s Hopeful Packages is a non-profit organisation run by Holly Dixon from Royton in Oldham through her social media accounts including facebook and Instagram - just search Holly’s Hopeful Packages
She said: “I send out care packages, free of charge, to people who might be struggling with their mental health or autism, or anyone who needs some positivity.”
“I’ve been doing it for about two years now and as a former mental health service user myself, know how hard it can be to deal with things. I’ve done all sorts of fund raising to enable me to continue the service including a Manchester 5k colour run, and so far have been able to send out more than 300 care packages.”

“This funding from Persimmon Homes is absolutely amazing, I cannot thank them enough – it will fund 100s more care packages that will bring a little bit of hope into the lives of people who need a boost.”
Every package is different, and may contain a selection of toiletries, cosmetics, candles, sweets, hair accessories and stationery.
Dave Hodgson, sales director for Persimmon Homes North West, said: “We are absolutely thrilled that our Community Champions funding is helping Holly send out her hopeful packages.”
“The Community Champions scheme seeks to support local good causes across the region. If groups and charities are unsuccessful with their application one month, we urge them to visit the Persimmon Homes website and to try again.”
