A charity supporting people with learning disabilities and additional needs across the West Midlands has secured a £1,000 donation from Persimmon Homes South Midlands.
Worcester Snoezelen, a multi-sensory leisure therapy centre, appealed to Persimmon Homes South Midlands for support through the company’s Community Champions initiative.
More than 1,500 people with disabilities visit Worcester Snoezelen each year, experiencing tranquil sensory rooms with warm waterbeds which resonate with music, a hydro-pool with waterfall, soft play zone, sensory garden, arts and music services. The Community Champions funding will go towards developing the sensory garden.
Rachel Court, community engagement officer, explained: “We asked for the £1,000 towards our much-needed sensory garden makeover. The donation will cover the cost of a new garden furniture and planters. We are delighted that Persimmon Homes South Midlands chose us as their Community Champion.”
Amanda Rogers, head of sales for Persimmon Homes South Midlands, said: “We are delighted to be able to support Worcester Snoezelen. We wish them well in the service they provide and hope that our funds will enhance their clients’ experience of the sensory garden.”
