Knockout donation for boxing club

A local boxing club has landed a knockout donation from Persimmon Homes Teesside to fund training equipment.

Northallerton Amateur Boxing Club has been gifted £1,000 through our Community Champions scheme and it will be used to fund training equipment for club members.

Joanne Gatenby, for the club, said: “We provide physical and mental support to the local community in the form of boxing/fitness classes and competitions.

“The equipment is necessary if Northallerton Amateur Boxing Club is to be a destination of choice for young people throughout the town and surrounding area and many of our younger members signed up for a sponsored walk, with the aim of raising £1,000 as a demonstration of their determination and belief in the club.

“We are grateful for the support of Persimmon Homes Teesside.”

Joan Peart sales director for Persimmon Homes Teesside, said: “We are delighted to be able to support the club’s plan to provide essential training equipment. We wish them well with their activities and hope everyone will benefit.”
