Cash creates shelter for preschool

A Grimsby pre-school has secured a £1,000 donation to upgrade its outdoor play area.

Holton le Clay Preschool received the funds from the Community Champions scheme, which donates up to £64,000 to good causes across the UK each month.

The charity-run preschool is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year and aims to improve its facilities for the younger community.

Heidi Dows from the preschool said: “We are very proud to have served the Holton Le Clay community for so long and reach such a significant milestone.

“Many of our activities are based outside and the pandemic has highlighted the benefit of having a covered play area. The children love being outdoors, and a sheltered space will enable us to continue with our activities during the more inclement weather.

“We are very grateful to Persimmon.”

Under Persimmon Homes’ Community Champions scheme, the South Yorkshire regional business provides support of up to £1,000 to two local charities or good causes, every month.

Richard Hosie, managing director for South Yorkshire, said: “We are very happy to support Holton le Clay Preschool. Serving the community for 40 years is impressive and we wish the preschool great success for the next 40 years.”

We are currently building stunning new homes at developments in New Waltham, Lincoln and is soon launching a site in Scartho Top in Grimsby.
