A growing football club in Weston-super-Mare has been given a New Year boost from Persimmon.
Haywood FC, which is based on the new Haywood Village development, is celebrating a £750 grant from us as part of our Community Champions scheme.
Each and every month we donate up to £64,000 to good causes across the UK.
Ian Lindsay, of the club, said: “We’re very grateful to Persimmon Homes for this generous donation.
“We were formed three years ago and we have always tried to keep costs low.
“Some of our training equipment now in need of replacing such as balls, cones, bibs, hurdles and mannequins.
“We have raised some money ourselves through scratch cards and sweepstakes, but a gift like this from Persimmon makes a huge difference.”
Carly Spear, Sales Director at Severn Valley, said: “We are delighted to support Haywood FC.
“We are very proud of our involvement in the Haywood Village project. A new community is taking shape and sports clubs should be a big part of that.
“We hope the players enjoy their new equipment.”
Persimmon began construction on the former Weston Airfield site in 2013. More than 2,500 properties are being built at Haywood Village, along with two primary schools and a local centre.
There are stunning homes currently available on The Beeches phase.
