A line dancing group based near Telford has received a £1,000 donation to widen access, awareness and participation in line dancing, thanks to our West Midlands team.
Lawley Village Line Dancing Club received the donation from the region as part of our Community Champions initiative. Based in Lawley Community Centre, the funds will be used to provide a stage area for the club’s instructors to lead the dances.
The not-for-profit, volunteer-run club was established in November 2022 with the aim of using music as a vehicle to foster a sense of community. Formed by residents of the village, the club aims to bring experienced dancers and those new to the pastime together through music and movement.
David Greengrass, Sales Director at Persimmon Homes West Midlands, said: “What we do is about much more than just building homes, it’s about leaving a lasting positive legacy in the communities that we build in and doing this in the ways that have the most positive impact.
“It’s a delight to be able to offer this donation to Lawley Village Line Dancing Club; we hope the new stage area will be enjoyed by the group for years to come.”
