Malmesbury Victoria FC nets £6,000 donation from Persimmon Homes Wessex

Malmesbury Victoria FC has secured a £6,000 grant from Persimmon Homes Wessex through their Community Champions scheme.

This significant contribution will fund the installation of a new fence at the club's grounds, enhancing the safety and security of the facilities for both players and spectators.

Malmesbury Victoria FC, a community-focused football club with deep local roots, provides opportunities for people of all ages to engage in the sport and develop their skills.

Persimmon Homes Wessex, whose regional headquarters are located in Malmesbury at Tetbury Hill, is currently nearing the conclusion of a 201-home scheme at the nearby Backbridge Farm site. This major development offers a variety of home sizes and architectural designs to cater to the diverse needs of the community.

Once completed, Backbridge Farm will also include a village green, pocket parks, play areas, and attenuation ponds, all designed to enhance the lives of residents and the broader local community. A bridge has also been constructed to provide convenient access between the development and Malmesbury town.

To mark the donation, representatives from the housebuilder and football club were joined by Malmesbury Town Mayor, Cllr Phil Exton.
