The South Coast region and CBRE Investment Management are delighted to announce a high-profile partnership to deliver a total 365 affordable homes at our St Peter’s Place development in Salisbury
A deal has been agreed for CBRE IM, on behalf of the firm’s UK Affordable Housing Fund, to bring forward all the affordable homes at this new community of 1250 homes.
CBRE IM had previously partnered with the business to deliver the affordable homes on the initial phases, and this partnership will deliver a further 152 affordable homes, including 78 homes for affordable rent and 74 homes for shared ownership.
This long-term agreement marks a significant commitment to expanding high quality, affordable housing delivery in Wiltshire. In total, this will deliver 220 homes for affordable rent and 145 for shared ownership that will help meet local housing needs and offer a pathway to home ownership for first-time buyers and young families.
Phillip Mellor, Land Director of Persimmon Homes South Coast, said: “We’re delighted to work with CBRE IM on this major affordable housing programme.
“St Peter’s Place has already become a thriving and welcoming new community, and today’s announcement marks another important step in delivering high quality homes that local people need.
“Working with CBRE IM enables us to accelerate delivery at scale while ensuring long-term affordability and community benefit.”
Ann Xu, Portfolio Manager, CBRE UK Affordable Housing Fund added: “We are pleased to strengthen our partnership with Persimmon Homes through this next phase at St. Peter’s Place.
“Across five phases, AHF has now funded 365 much needed affordable homes, helping to deliver both high quality homes for the local community and strong, long term investment and impact outcomes for our investors.
“This project reflects the core objectives of the Fund which is to increase the supply of affordable housing where it is needed most while creating sustainable, inclusive places for people to live.”
Under the partnership, we will construct the new homes as part of the next phases at St. Peter’s Place, with CBRE IM working with a registered provider to manage the properties. Construction on these phases is already underway with delivery continuing for the next three years.
St Peter’s Place is already a thriving local community with a new primary school, sports pitches and a new local centre that will open shortly.
