You can explore Segedunum Roman Fort and Museum for an insight into the days of the Roman Empire, and walk along Hadrian's Wall, the renowned UNESCO World Heritage Site.
East Benton Rise is close to the A186 and A1058 which head west to Newcastle-upon-Tyne and east to North Shields and Tynemouth. There are also excellent bus routes operating in and around Wallsend taking you to the coast and city, as well as to other nearby towns and villages. Newcastle airport is also within easy reach.
