It's Blue Flag-rated and has everything you'd need for either an energetic or a relaxing day. Approximately one mile from Long Sands is Tynemouth Priory and Castle. Once one of the largest fortified areas in England, it dominates the headland and offers beautiful views of the River Tyne and the North Sea.
