Its 16th century cobbled market square has weekly markets, and there are a number of craft fairs during the summer months. It also has a good selection of independent specialist shops as well as the popular high street names. There are a number of supermarkets including Waitrose, Aldi and Co-op, and a thriving indoor market. For city centre shopping Manchester is approximately 40 minutes away and the attractive walled city of Chester is less than 30 miles away.
Sandbach sports and leisure centre is located on Middlewich Road behind Sandbach High School. The facilities include a swimming pool, squash courts, sports hall, and a gym & fitness suite. Outdoor tennis courts, netball courts and a hockey pitch are also available at this facility. For the sports fans amongst you there are amateur rugby, football and cricket clubs in Sandbach.
The educational needs of this thriving town are well catered for with four primary schools. For secondary age children, Sandbach High School and Sixth Form College was noted as 'Outstanding' in its most recent Ofsted report, along with the boys and girls comprehensive schools. Further education and evening classes are available at Mid Cheshire College.
