The Location

A new home in Iwade puts you a stone’s throw from Sittingbourne, a 12-minute walk from the train station at Kemsley and a 26-minute drive from Maidstone. The M2 and the A2 take you to Dartford and the M25 in about three-quarters of an hour. It’s great to have these commuter routes on hand, and you can also use the local A249 to get to Sheerness on the Isle of Sheppey and the A299 along the coast to Whitstable and Herne Bay.

The environment

Iwade is just the right distance off the beaten track of the M2, to enjoy the local countryside that meets the waterways of the River Medway and The Swale. It has its own home-grown nature park, adding to the Halstow Creek Nature Reserve, the Oare Marshes Nature Reserve, the Elmley National Nature Reserve and the Milton Creek Country Park. For a change of scenery, you can head into the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The A249 from Iwade to Maidstone crosses the northwestern tip of this beautiful area, that stretches all the way to Folkstone and Dover on the south coast.

The amenities
