There's a great range of shopping facilities in the area including a range of small local shops, local petrol station, ice cream parlor, fish and chips shop, and a range of excellent restaurants.
There is a strong mix of uses in this area, with leisure and commercial facilities well positioned on the stunning Aberavon seafront. A few examples of these are the Aquasplash Play Pool, Aberavon Adventure Golf, Aberavon Skate Park, Aberavon Leisure and Fitness, Reel Cinema, Hollywood Park, the Sunken Garden and the Whale amongst others.
Aberavon also has a number of schools: Primary Schools, Ysgol Gynradd Gymreag Rhosafan, Awel Y Mor, Twyn, Ysgol Bae Baglan (ages 3-16). Secondary schools in the area include Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Bro Dur, St Thereses Catholic School, as well as the adult education centre, Tir Morfa.
There's convenient transport links including a bus route that runs along The Princess Margaret Way, with links to the main bus station in Port Talbot and Port Talbot train station as well as Swansea. Port Talbot train station has links to both Cardiff and Swansea.
