A grant of £1,000 has helped a Willenhall charity support a number of its community programmes.
Willenhall Community Forum, which was established by a group of residents in 1994 to develop education, employment and training resources for local people, has received the funds through Persimmon’s Community Champions scheme.
Daniel Messenger, from the forum, said: “We are raising money to continue to support and help our community group programmes evolve to cope during this current climate.”
Of the £1,000, the Arts and Crafts group will receive £100, the Men’s Mental Health Group £300, Local History Groups £100, Kids Stay & Play £200 and the Gardening & Allotment Group £300.
The centre prides itself on providing training facilities to enable local people to return to work, access further training or create and access different employment options. To support this work it has a 160 place Day Nursery and Creche facilities which are used by local service users and those who hire training and conference room facilities.
The centre operates a flexible users centre policy around training, employment and childcare and works to achieve both the best for local residents, those supporting the needs of the local community and those who increase and provide opportunities for local people.
Daniel added: “Thank you so much Persimmon Homes, we are absolutely delighted with this donation.”
