18 March 2021
An bullying prevention charity has received a £1,000 funding boost from Persimmon Midlands to support families in Northamptonshire.
The Kidscape Parent Advice Line was selected to benefit from the Community Champions scheme, which was set up to support local good causes.
Claire Dearsley, sales director for Persimmon Midlands, said: “All charities have been impacted by the pandemic, with increased demand for services at the same time as many normal fundraising activities are impossible to organise. Kidscape is a well-respected charity, supporting young people across our region, so we are proud to help with this Community Champions donation.”
Kidscape was founded in 1985 and has a long history of supporting children and families impacted by bullying. The charity’s aim is to see all children grow up in supportive communities safe from bullying and harm.
The Kidscape Parent Advice Line was launched in 2016 up to provide ongoing support to families accessing bullying awareness and resilience workshops. This is the only advice line entirely dedicated to parents and carers who have concerns about bullying of a child and 165 families were supported during 2019-20.
