A Leicester-based primary school has secured a £5,000 donation to fund a range of outdoor learning activities, thanks to a local Persimmon Homes North Midlands region.

Braunstone Frith Primary Academy received the funding boost from Persimmon Homes North Midlands as part of its Community Champions initiative.

The school is looking to invest into its outdoor learning facilities, making the space inviting, educational and purposeful. Persimmon’s donation will allow the school to purchase quality resources that will support Literacy, Reading and Maths as well as giving pupils other experiences to encourage a love of learning.

The donation was marked by a cheque presentation, attended by Dan Endersby, Managing Director at Persimmon Homes North Midlands and Cllr Elaine Pantling, Assistant City Mayor for Children and Young People at Leicester City Council.

Jo Smith at Braunstone Frith Primary Academy, said: “The children at Braunstone Frith love to learn and play outside and we are so grateful to Persimmon Homes for donating money to us so that we can enhance our outdoor provision. We are looking forward to creating an area that the children will enjoy using again and again! Thank you, Persimmon Homes, for helping to make this happen!”

Dan Endersby, Managing Director at Persimmon Homes North Midlands, said: “What we do is about much more than just building homes, it’s about leaving a lasting positive legacy in the communities that we build in. We’re always delighted to lend a hand to local schools and community groups to boost their ongoing initiatives or contribute to causes that mean a lot to them.”

“It’s an honour to be able to offer this support to Braunstone Frith Primary Academy and we hope the pupils enjoy making the most of the outdoor learning facilities as we move into spring.”
