Pupils at an Alfreton primary school are to benefit from new technology equipment following a donation from a Persimmon Homes.
South Wingfield Primary School has received a £1,000 cash boost from the Persimmon Homes Community Champions scheme, which donates up to £64,000 to good causes across the UK each month.
The funding will enable the school to purchase new laptops, iPads and coding equipment.
Ruth Whiffin from the school PTA, who applied for the funding, said: “We are thrilled that Persimmon Homes chose to support our application.
“Fundraising events have been limited over the last couple of years, yet the resources we help fund remain as important as ever.
“This donation will enable the school to purchase new iPads, laptops and Bee-Bot coding robots to help support the children’s education and understanding of technology.”
Under Persimmon Homes’ Community Champions scheme, the Nottingham regional business provides support of up to £1,000 to two local charities or good causes, every month.
Ben Felton, managing director for Persimmon Homes Nottingham, said: “It is important that the younger generation have access to the necessary resources to support their understanding of developing technology. We are very happy to support South Wingfield Primary School.”
Persimmon Homes is currently building stunning new homes at developments across Derbyshire and Nottingham and recently opened a new site in Darley Dale, named Whitworth Dale, under its sister brand Charles Church.
