Charity riding high with funding
20 July 2021
A Milton Keynes children’s charity has secured £1,000 of funding from Midlands to help support vulnerable children.
Ride High was selected to receive the donation from the Building Futures scheme, which supports organisations working with the under-18s.
The charity transforms the lives of disadvantaged and vulnerable children by providing opportunities to ride and care for horses, as well as running educational projects which boost their self-esteem.
Fundraising manager Helen Dixon said: “This funding from Persimmon Homes couldn’t come at a better time for us. We need to purchase materials and equipment for new science, design and technology educational projects we plan to launch in September, which will excite and inspire our children.
“We work with more than 250 children every year, encouraging them to be active and develop positive life skills – increasing their desire to learn, developing better engagement in school and improving their mental health and wellbeing.”

Simon McDonald, regional divisional director (Central), said: “Building Futures is all about supporting young people in our area, and we are delighted to help the work of Ride High.
“We’re accepting entries to the scheme until mid-August, so we’d urge more people to apply by visiting www.persimmonhomes.com/charity”
