Colchester Deputy Mayor and Mayoress sing Nightingale Gardens' praises

The Deputy Mayor and Mayoress of Colchester, Councillors Colin and Laura Sykes, have given their seal of approval to our Stanway housing development in the Essex region, citing our engagement with the local community as key to its success.

Persimmon Homes Essex has now opened the ‘Roding’ show home at its Nightingale Gardens development, a stunning collection of two, three and four bedroom houses.

The luxurious four bedroom ‘Roding’ property equipped with a kitchen diner, a lounge leading out directly onto the garden, and features a cloakroom on the ground floor. 

These desirable properties are selling off plan, and the Roding is just one of many attractive detached and semi-detached properties on the development.

Speaking at the opening of the show home, Councillor Colin Sykes said: “We are extremely pleased to open this new development and have been involved with Persimmon for quite a few years.

“In many ways Persimmon has done what the ward council has been trying to do by taking the initiative and engaging with residents before development. Persimmon was the first developer in Stanway to talk to us, the residents and the Parish council to gain full support before commencing.

“Thanks to this approach, there were no objections at all through the planning committee and everyone in the area is really positive about welcoming Persimmon Homes to Stanway, and the much-needed homes at Nightingale Gardens.”

Persimmon Homes Essex sales director, Norman Sharpe, added: “We’d like to express our gratitude to the Deputy Mayor and Mayoress for opening our showhome and agree that the approach to planning for Nightingale Gardens was an example for all future developments.”
