Community boost for Northamptonshire village
01 July 2014
Residents of a Northamptonshire village are set to benefit from a huge community boost, courtesy of our development of new family homes currently under construction.Bugbrooke will gain from substantial investment in education, health facilities, public transport, highway improvements, library provision, public open space and other village enhancements, thanks to more than £350,000 of Persimmon contributions.
The Paddocks development launched its show home last weekend with a cheque presentation to Medical Detection Dogs charity – charity of the year for Persimmon Homes Midlands, who are building 80 homes for local families on Johns Road.
Claire Davidson, sales manager, said: “As a responsible builder, whenever we start working within a community, we look at ways to support local people and infrastructure. The Section 106 agreement is part of the planning application, and in the case of The Paddocks this will deliver a significant amount of funding to improve and enhance village life.
“We are also directly supporting local social activity, with a donation towards the primary school fete taking place on July 7th, where we look forward to meeting lots of village residents.
“And we were delighted that our nominated charity for 2014, Medical Detection Dogs, was able to join us for the launch of our show home at The Paddocks, to receive the first cheque of the year towards this very worthwhile cause. We raised more than £2,000 from a sale of old show home furniture, and we have lots more fundraising activity planned for the year.”
Claire added: “At The Paddocks we are creating a range of attractive four bedroom houses, with a number of special offers and buying incentives ensuring that this development offers perfect homes for local people at the right price.”
Buyers can utilise the Government’s Help to Buy equity loan offer in order to secure a home with just a five per cent deposit and those with existing properties to sell can access Persimmon’s Home Change or Part Exchange assisted moving schemes.
