Couple moves from one Persimmon home to another!
01 December 2023
A young couple who are fast moving up the property ladder have revealed how a scheme designed to help first time buyers kick-started their journey to their dream home.
Keavy Jones and fiancé Harrison Silvester purchased their first home together in 2021 as the world emerged from the Covid pandemic. The couple were able to save a 5% deposit for their two-bedroom home within the Kett’s Meadow community at Heathersett, where Persimmon Homes Anglia are hoping to start work on the third phase of development in the new year once planning permission has been secured, with the rest of the deposit coming in the form of a Help To Buy equity loan.
Keavy, 25, said: “The Help To Buy scheme gave us 20% so we only needed to put down a 5% deposit, which was fantastic as first time buyers. That gave us the boost we needed to be able to get onto the property ladder. It felt like a huge achievement being able to buy our own home.”
The couple were grateful for the scheme for helping them realise their dream. They were, however, keen to repay the loan as their position improved and were able to take on the mortgage in full.
“We had our house valued earlier this year,” said Keavy. “With a healthy level of equity in the house we knew we could pay off the Help to Buy loan and put a deposit down on a new house that gave us room to grow.
“We were keen to once again buy with Persimmon because we had such a good experience previously. The customer service we received was first class, nothing was ever too much. The sales advisors kept us up to date with build dates and even after we moved in they were there to support with the transition period.”
Keavy and 26-year-old Harry moved into their new three-bedroom home at Persimmon’s Elm Farm community in Wymondham in October after enjoying a short holiday during which Harry proposed.
“It has been a busy few months with the engagement and the move, we are really happy now to be in our new home and settled. We have plenty of extra space and we think we will be here for a long time.”
Jorden Knell, Sales Director of Persimmon Homes Anglia, said: “We are delighted to have been able to support Keavy and Harry with the purchase of their second home, we offer them our congratulations on their engagement and wish them much happiness in their new home.
“At Persimmon Homes we offer a range of options to support first time buyers, helping individuals, couples and families find their perfect home at an affordable price.”
Persimmon Homes are currently offering a 5% deposit boost, helping first time buyers with a 5% deposit unlock competitive mortgage rates. For those moving up the ladder they offer part exchange on your old property.
