Cricket club bowled over by donation from Suffolk region

The season has got off to a strong start at Lakenheath Cricket Club thanks to a donation of £2,000 from Suffolk region.
We have just launched the show home at the Liberty Gate development in the village, close to where the cricket club play, and were keen to support the club with a donation from our Community Champions programme.
Persimmon is working to create a positive lasting legacy within the areas it is building new homes in and through its charitable scheme, is eager to support schools, sports groups and charities who are the lifeblood of communities.
Rory Palmer, of Lakenheath Cricket Club, said: “We would like to thank Persimmon for this donation, that will help us ensure our nets are in good condition for those practicing throughout the season, and repair our screens to give players and visitors a better experience.
“The club brings people together from the village and we are looking forward to welcoming potential new members from Liberty Gate in coming years.”
Ian Hamilton, Managing Director of Suffolk region, said: “At Persimmon we pride ourselves on building communities and ensuring there are open spaces, play area and first-class sports facilities that are appealing to both new and existing residents.
“This grant will enable the club to improve their facilities and attract more players in coming months and years. It is a pleasure to support them.”
Liberty Gate comprises a range of homes from one-bedroom starter properties to four-bedroom family homes. The show home is now open for viewings at Eriswell Road, Lakenheath.
