Essex honour their young achievers
20 October 2014
We are cementing our future by recognising the hard work and entrepreneurial spirit of our youngsters.
We have launched our Young Achievers Awards programme to put the spotlight on the apprentices and sales trainees who have gone above and beyond to succeed in their role.
Our Essex office has named its three winners, one in each of the sub-categories. They are Toni Brewster, James Doyle and Christopher Jones.
Toni, 23 and from Maldon, was nominated by sales manager Kim Oates in the Sales Trainee of the Year category.
Toni joined us in May 2013 and trained under Margaret Weighill at Neave Place.
Kim said: “Toni took on her first site in January at Gooshays where she has had a brilliant year, selling 79 properties, mostly from a cabin, 48 of which have already exchanged.
“She is, in my mind, an excellent example of how the Sales Trainee programme should work and has an excellent future with Persimmon Homes.”
Eighteen-year-old James, meanwhile, was put forward in the Trade Apprentice of the Year category by his manager Carl Twin, who is a site manager.
James, from Gidea Park, Romford, joined Persimmon last year as a first year apprentice bricklayer at Neave Place. He has achieved 100 per cent attendance at work and college and is now starting his level two qualifications.
Carl said: “James is a great example of a hard-working, dedicated apprentice and I’m sure his career will progress smoothly.”
The Essex Business Trainee of the Year is Christopher, 22, who was nominated by commercial director Damian Seddon.
Christopher, from Braintree, joined Persimmon in February this year on a part-time basis while he completed his degree in Quantity Surveying and before starting full-time from May.
