Funding for Norfolk good causes
10 February 2022
Two Norfolk good causes have successfully bid for funding from our Anglia region.
Go Ahead Club and Friends of Wymondham College Prep have each been awarded £1,000 as part of the Community Champions initiative, which supports organisations that help improve the lives of local people.
Go Ahead Club is a not-for-profit organisation run purely for adults who have learning disabilities. The club applied to Community Champions after recent lockdowns meant their rent had increased. They hope that, with the money donated by Persimmon, they can continue running the much-needed service they provide.
Persimmon’s funding will also help Wymondham College Prep School to purchase new and durable play equipment for students, encouraging children to play whilst learning practical skills.
Michelle Baker, managing director for Anglia region, said: “The past 18 months has been difficult for both groups of people targeted as social contact has been isolated.
“We are proud to be able to make these Community Champions donations to help assist both groups in the work that they are doing to provide more positive experiences for our local community.”
Persimmon Homes Community Champions scheme offers two grants each month to clubs, schools, charities, and voluntary organisations across Norfolk.
