Fundraisers at Anglia office smash target for Norwich hospice
18 January 2024
Team members at Persimmon Homes Anglia went the extra mile with their fundraising efforts last year after vowing to support the new Priscilla Bacon Lodge.
Colleagues from the Norwich office pledged to raise £5,000 for the worthy cause, knowing that the hospice has touched the lives of so many people across the county.
Over the course of 2023 they organised dress down days, bake sales, wild swim challenges and a team took part in the Tour De Broads on the hottest day of the year, collecting donations and sponsorship for the hospice charity.
Jorden Knell, Sales Director, was one of four team members to take on the 100-mile trek – however he really did go the extra mile and clocked up 101miles before crossing the finish line. The cyclists raised £5,900 through sponsorship to add to their funds for the hospice, with Debi Sherman, Head of Planning, swimming miles in open water over several months to further boost funds. A donation was made from the Community Champions fund to add to the fundraising efforts and take the total to £8,378.
Michelle Baker, Managing Director of Persimmon Homes Anglia, joined Jorden and Debi on a visit to the new Priscilla Bacon Lodge, which opened in October, to see the facilities on offer to patients and their families at the state-of-the-art centre.
Michelle said: “Having seen first-hand the work the team at Priscilla Bacon Lodge do, we are delighted that we were able to make such a generous donation to the hospice and enable them to further expand their services. They work with passion and determination to enrich care for patients and their families. The charity coordinates a comprehensive bereavement service and the team have plans to develop additional complementary services to help patients and their loved ones.”
“I am incredibly proud of the team at Persimmon Anglia for their dedication to fundraising for the hospice, they have shown a real determination and drive to not only reach their goal, but far exceed expectations.”
