‘Grand’ boost for charity appeal
08 June 2021

A charity appeal supporting disadvantaged children and young people across Hampshire has been boosted by a £1,000 donation from Persimmon South Coast.
Cash for Kids is the charity linked to Fareham based radio station, Wave 105, working with social workers, schools and other organisations to support children and families affected by the pandemic via an emergency grant scheme.
Matt Paine, managing director of Persimmon South Coast, said: “Our Community Champions funding scheme was established to help worthy good causes that make a real difference to the lives of people living in the communities where we are building.
“Covid-19 has plunged many into financial hardship and charities like Cash for Kids have never been more vital, providing a lifeline to local families in need. We are very proud to help the Wave 105 appeal to raise funds for Cash for Kids.”
Persimmon’s donation will directly support 28 local children whose families are struggling to buy food, toiletries, school uniform or pay their energy bills.
Judith Meagher, charity fundraising executive for Wave 105 Cash for Kids, added: “We launched our Cash For Kids Day appeal to help raise awareness and encourage local businesses to support this fantastic charity.
“The Cash for Kids mission is to improve the lives of disadvantaged children and young people in our community and we can now help even more children and provide food and items that many take for granted.
“We are very grateful to Persimmon Homes for their generous support.”
