GRAND SUPPORT FOR HOSPICE CARE SCHEME
11 January 2022
A West Sussex hospice caring for local people facing the end of life has been awarded £1,000 by our Thames Valley business.
St Catherine’s Hospice received the funding through the Community Champions scheme.
Jacquie Thomas, from St Catherine’s, said: "St Catherine’s is a charity caring for local people facing the end of life on our hospice wards in Crawley, as well as in home across West Sussex and East Surrey.
“Our expert clinical teams work around the clock to bring people relief from their symptoms and help to manage their illness.
“But it’s not just clinical care that makes a difference. The opportunity to have a bath and freshen up, or to have a hair wash, can really affect how a patient feels, which in turn can bring relief and reassurance to loved ones.
“Thanks to Persimmon Homes, we will put this £1,000 toward the purchase of vital items including sensitive skin products, dry shampoo caps and mouth spray, all of which can help make patients feel clean and fresh and improve how comfortable they feel.”
Rachel Faulkner, sales director for Persimmon Thames Valley, said: “We were delighted to support St Catherine’s as they take care of people in the local community facing the most difficult of times.”
