Hitting the right note for North Yorkshire schools
05 August 2021
Schools in North Yorkshire are set to benefit from musical experiences, thanks to Persimmon Yorkshire.
Live Music Now received £1,000 from the Building Futures scheme, which supports organisations working with the under-18s, and will use the funds for a range of musical sessions in schools.
The organisation connects professional musicians with children and young people experiencing challenging circumstances, engaging them in interactive music making to support health and wellbeing.
Deborah Welch from Live Music Now said: “This is a wonderful boost to our work. Persimmon's donation will support our work with children and young people across North Yorkshire. The funding will enable us to produce a series of interactive online music sessions and bespoke face-to-face music workshops, as well as giving local schools and families access to free concerts through our online resource library.”
Scott Waters, managing director for Yorkshire, added: “We are delighted to be supporting an organisation that benefits so many schools across North Yorkshire.”
