Housebuilder's donation supports Scout Group in Didcot
15 August 2024
Didcot’s 12th Scout Group has received a cheque for £1,000, becoming the latest recipient of Persimmon Homes Wessex’s Community Champions scheme.
The scout group, which has 83 members aged between 6 and 14, helps young people to develop key skills across the local areas.
Didcot 12th Scout Group relies on the support of 12 local volunteers, while Persimmon’s donation will go towards supporting the group’s subsidised camps, activities, and running costs.
Persimmon recently presented the cheque at its new Valley Park site in Didcot. Construction on the site has begun, delivering 179 quality new homes as the first phase of development.
The Community Champions scheme by Persimmon Homes Wessex donates £24,000 each year to community organisations and good causes in the areas it develops.
Donna Butler, Corporate Partnerships Manager at the 12th Didcot Scout Group, thanked Persimmon for the donation and commented:
“I would like to say a massive thank you to Persimmon for their generous donation.
“This money will go a huge way in supporting us and the opportunities we are able to offer our members. Thank you.”
Pauline Fletcher, Sales Director at Persimmon Homes Wessex, commented:
“Our Community Champions scheme is all about supporting volunteers, causes and groups in the local communities where we develop.
“Valley Park will deliver a huge range of investment locally as well as quality new sustainable homes for local people. With our first phase underway, we now have a collection of these homes ranging from 1-bedroom apartments to 4-bedroom houses on sale.
“We are delighted to support Didcot’s 12th Scout Group and their dedicated team of volunteers who support young people and make a difference right across the local area.”
Persimmon’s quality new homes at Valley Park are now available with prices ranging from £389,995 to £489,995. For more information on Persimmon’s new Valley Park site please visit www.persimmonhomes.com.
