Houses so good that Janet bought twice
30 September 2015
Usually moving house requires laborious journeys in removal vans followed by a period of acclimatising to a new area.
But that wasn’t the case for Chelmsford’s Janet Rayner, who only had to re-locate a matter of metres when she decided to downsize.
Retired Janet, who is in her 60s, bought a three bedroom detached house in Emberson Croft on June 15 2014 at Persimmon Homes’ Saxon Gate development.
She was pleased with the property but found it to be too big and decided to downsize.
Janet faced the upheaval up moving elsewhere in the town – until she discovered there was a two-bed terraced property available at Saxon Gate on Wood Leys.
Twelve months to the day after first moving to Saxon Gate from Brentwood, Janet upped sticks again and moved her belongings to her new house, just metres from her previous one.
She said: “I was very pleased with the property at Emberson Croft but it was a bit too big.
“I spoke to Jo Riand (the sales adviser at Saxon Gate) and she told me about the two-bed literally around the corner.
“She was really helpful and it seemed perfect. Without Jo’s help I wouldn’t be in the house today. I still needed a removal van to help me move my furniture – but it wasn’t a very long journey!
“It was nice as it meant I could stay in touch with the people I had met at Emberson Croft. I’m really happy here and hopefully I won’t have to move again for a while.”
Kim Oates, Sales Manager at Persimmon Homes Essex, said: “We were really pleased to be able to find Janet a smaller property within Saxon Gate.
“It made the moving process much less stressful for her and she is now happy and settled.
“There is now just a one four bedroom Penda style property available at Saxon Gate so house hunters need to act quickly if they want to be part of the new community we have created there.
“Our popular Part Exchange scheme is available, where we will help you sell your existing property to take the stress away from moving house.
