Hucknall community church gets our support for new kitchen

A church centre that hosts community events in Hucknall has received a cash boost to help support its kitchen project.
The East Side Church, in the Butlers Hill part of Hucknall, was awarded £1,000 from our Nottingham region, thanks to its Community Champions scheme.
Members of the church run a series of outreach activities for the community, including youth clubs, coffee mornings and a kids club, and its 1970's kitchen is in desperate need of an upgrade to cope with increasing demand.
Alan Randall, from East Side Methodist Church, said: “We are most delighted and extremely grateful for Persimmon Homes’ kind award to our kitchen project. "The successful completion of this project will increase our abilities for outreach services in our local community enormously. While we are not able to provide these services at present, now is the perfect time to upgrade our catering facilities.”
Persimmon Homes Nottingham makes two donations of up to £1,000 every month to grassroot groups and charities in the areas where it is building. Neil Follows, managing director at Nottingham, said: “Our Community Champions scheme is all about supporting the community and members of the East Side Methodist Church are doing just that. We are more than happy to support their kitchen project.”
