Last chance to buy at popular Chelmsford development

10 March 2015

Time is running out for house hunters to make the move to a popular location in Chelmsford.

Fewer than two dozen properties are left to sell at Persimmon Homes’ Saxon Gate development in Patching Hall Lane. More than 100 of the 135 stunning houses have sold since the marketing suite opened its doors to excited customers just 18 months ago.

Norman Sharpe, sales and marketing director at Persimmon Homes Essex, said: “We knew that Saxon Gate would be extremely popular as it offers home hunters the best of both worlds. It is set in impressive countryside but only minutes from the centre of the city. “Five properties were snapped up on the opening weekend of sales and now, just a year-and-a-half on, we are down to the final properties. We still have a selection of three and four bedroom houses left, but they won’t be around for much longer. If people have been thinking about moving to Chelmsford then now is the time to act – before it is too late.”

Close to the development are a host of amenities, shops and leisure activities, while the local train station is only two miles away and the journey time is just 35 minutes to central London. There is a mixture of rich heritage in the area, beautiful green spaces, first-class sporting, leisure and arts facilities and a vibrant nightlife. Chelmsford also boasts two of the best grammar schools in the country – Kind Edward VI Grammar School and Chelmsford County High School for Girls.

There are initiatives available to help house hunters get a foot on the property ladder, including the Government-backed Help to Buy scheme, which means purchasers could need a deposit of just five per cent.

One couple who have recently made the move to Saxon Gate are newly-engaged James Laden and Jay Hayden. James, 28, said: “It’s an amazing development. We looked at other developments around Essex but Saxon Gate was by far the best quality. It was like comparing a Premier League team to a Sunday League team. There’s a really nice community coming together already with a great mix of young professionals and families.”

Anyone interested in a property at Saxon Gate is advised to visit the marketing suite to find out which schemes, offers or incentives are available to them.
