Persimmon Homes North Scotland donates land to Kelty Hearts FC for new car park development.

Persimmon Homes North Scotland has donated a parcel of land to Kelty Hearts Football Club to support the development of a new car park for supporters, players, and the local community.

The land, located adjacent to the club’s home ground in Kelty, was officially handed over during a visit attended by Louise Scott, Head of Customer Care at Persimmon Homes North Scotland, Richard Baker MP, and Fife Council’s Spokesperson for Communities and Leisure, Councillor Linda Erskine. Together, they joined Club Chairman George McTrusty to mark the occasion.

The donation will allow the club to improve access and safety for fans on match days while providing much-needed parking facilities for community events and activities held at the ground.

Richard Baker, MP for Glenrothes and Mid Fife, said "This is an incredibly generous gesture from Persimmon Homes, and a gift which brings a lasting legacy for both Kelty Hearts FC and the local community.

"The new car park will open up opportunities for the club to bring in more visitors when hosting future events, as well as improving access on match days. I look forward to seeing it completed and want to thank Persimmon Homes for making this possible."

Cllr Linda Erskine, Communities Spokesperson, added "This generous land donation from Persimmon Homes, combined with the £250,000 investment from Fife Council’s Capital Investment Plan, demonstrates our shared commitment to supporting local communities. The new car park will significantly improve access and safety for Kelty Hearts FC supporters and the wider community.

“Importantly, it will also provide much-needed additional parking capacity for the community centre, helping to relieve the pressure on spaces during busy evenings and ensuring these vital facilities can be enjoyed by all for years to come.”

George McTrusty, Chairman of Kelty Hearts FC, commented “We would like to thank Persimmon Homes and Fife Council for making this car park possible. The car park will help to alleviate local traffic problems, and we are now moving forward to make this a reality”

The donation is part of Persimmon’s wider commitment to making a positive impact in communities across Scotland. Through its Community Champions initiative, the homebuilder donates over £6,000 every quarter in each of its regional businesses to local organisations, charities and clubs.
