Local Football Club Scores Funding Win
03 July 2025

A football club in Hartlepool is celebrating after netting a £6,000 donation from a national housebuilder.
Local MP Jonathan Brash was on hand this week to help present a cheque from Persimmon to Hartlepool Pools Youth FC at their end of season awards.
The club has been awarded the money after applying to Persimmon’s Community Champions initiative which is open to all charities, community groups and sports clubs looking for funding.
The money will pay for new away shirts for the club next season, meaning all 50 of the club’s teams will benefit from the funding boost.
Paul Stabler, Chairman of Hartlepool Pools Youth, said: “We’re a grassroots football club that relies heavily on sponsorship from companies in the local community to function.
“In the area we serve, it’s important to us to keep our player subscriptions as low as possible, that’s why donations from companies such as Persimmon Homes are vital to us.”
Christopher Neal, Persimmon Teesside Sales Director, added: “We’re fully committed to having a positive impact on local people and leaving a positive legacy across the communities we serve.
“It was great therefore to visit Hartlepool Pools Youth and meet the volunteers who help make clubs like Hartlepool Pools Youth a real cornerstone of their community.”
