Lydney Town Hall celebrates grand gesture
19 November 2021
Lydney Town Hall has received a financial boost to add more seating to stage larger events.
The 133-year-old hall has secured £1,000 of funding from Persimmon through our Community Champions campaign.
The hall, which once played host to The Beatles, is well used by various groups, including the NHS for blood donation clinics, the Alzheimer’s Society, Slimming World and the Lydney and Severnside Flower Club.
Natasha Saunders, who applied for the funding, said: “Everyone at Lydney Town Hall is delighted to receive this generous donation from Persimmon Homes.
“It’s fantastic to see a large business like Persimmon getting involved in the local community in a really tangible and beneficial way.
“We’re hoping to increase our seating so that we can host larger events now that Covid restrictions have been lifted. This money will go a long way towards that.”
Victoria Williams, sales director at East Wales, said: “We’re delighted to be able to support Lydney Town Hall.
“It’s really important that these community facilities exist so that local people have a place to go, meet, socialise and take part in their hobbies and interests.
“We’re fully behind their plans to open it up to larger events.”
There is a range of three and four-bedroom available, with prices from £214,995.
