MP opens new play area in Rainham
16 September 2025
MP Naushabah Khan officially opened a new play area for children living at our Otterham Park community in Rainham, Kent.
The new playground was completed during the school summer holidays and was celebrated with a ceremonial opening attended by the Gillingham and Rainham MP.
Residents living on the new Otterham Park development, and those from neighbouring areas, were invited to join the opening and test out the new play equipment, with ice creams provided for all in attendance.
Naushabah Khan MP said:
“It is a pleasure to be able to open this playground at Otterham Park. Play spaces like this really are a vital community asset, they give a heart to new build developments and provide somewhere for families to meet up and for children to enjoy the outside space.”
Claire Wright, Head of Sales for Persimmon Homes South East, said:
“Opening a play park is always a pivotal moment in a development. It provides a focal point for the new residents and offers an important new amenity for the existing community.
“It is wonderful to be here and see so many families making use of this play area, that sits right at the heart of the new development. We hope it brings joy for many years to come.”
The South East region has built 300 new homes at Otterham Park, including homes for shared ownership, helping to meet housing need locally. The final properties will be occupied within the next few months.
