A young health, safety, and environment advisor from Great Yarmouth has been praised for her hard work, by receiving national recognition in Persimmon Homes annual achievers awards.
Carly Hughes, who works for Persimmon Plc and is based at its Norwich office, was named as runner-up in the Persimmon Homes Achievers Award, which recognises its top talent.
The 24-year-old was nominated by the group’s Health, Safety and Environmental Director, Abigail Bainbridge, who said: “Carly was nominated for the Business Trainee of the Year award which acknowledges those who go the extra mile for the company and colleagues.”
“Carly is proving to an exceptional asset to the team, with a strong work ethic and a genuine pride in delivering her best.”
“Having joined the team in August 2019 Carly’s passion to learn was instantly evident. Rather than completing her qualifications through our distance learning programme she chose to self-fund an intensive shorter course, which she excelled in.”
“Her ‘can do’ approach and eagerness to learn has enabled her to progress quickly and take on new responsibilities sooner than expected. Carly has led several new initiatives and made many sound judgments in a variety of situations.
“Demonstrating her naturally caring personality, Carly has become a credible member of the team, both with Persimmon Plc and within the Anglia regional business. I am delighted her efforts have been recognised.”
The overall winner of the Business Trainee of the Year award was Tyler Collins from the East Wales region.
Carly added: “It was wonderful to receive this award. I like to challenge myself and feel privileged to be able to help strengthen the health and safety needs of the business to benefit all.”
