New faces at Persimmon Homes West Midlands

Persimmon Homes has appointed a new managing director and a sales and marketing director at its West Midlands regional office.

Steven Hird brings with him a wealth of housebuilding industry experience and has spent the last couple of years heading up Persimmon’s Midlands regional office.

Steven, from Moseley, Birmingham, has spent his career in housebuilding and has made the move to focus on growing the West Midlands business. Through the acquisition of land, amongst other priorities, he aims to add further to the portfolio of developments currently trading in the region.

As part of his remit, Steven’s key objective is to develop the business not just through launching new developments but also to broaden the design and specification of homes available.

Steven said: "In order for us to continue to grow, we need to identify further sites so we can continue to offer a great choice of housing which appeal to a broad mix of people. We need to keep abreast of trends and respond accordingly to changing homebuyer behavior and market conditions and ensure our homes exceed expectations. I intend to put my knowledge and skills, alongside those of my team, to meet our objectives and maintain Persimmon Homes’ reputation as a leading housebuilder in the region.

Joining Steven at Persimmon Homes West Midlands is Claire Jarvis. As the new sales and marketing director, Claire is responsible for a committed sales team out on the developments across the region. Her experience gained by working for Persimmon in the North West has given her a good head start coupled with that achieved over her career in housebuilding spanning over 12 years.

Claire, who currently lives in Cheshire, adds: “Market conditions have been tough and we remain cautiously optimistic about the next twelve months. Yet with visitor levels on the rise, there are encouraging signs. We are delighted with the response of the new Government-back FirstBuy scheme and we are receiving a huge number of enquiries from hopeful homebuyers who see the benefit of the support to help them onto the property ladder.

“Ensuring we have the right product, which is in the right location, together with homebuying schemes such as FirstBuy, Part Exchange and Persimmon's shared equity scheme Helping Hands, is essential. We are all committed to developing and strengthening the operation, focusing our efforts and energy on ensuring that our customers have the very best homebuying experience with Persimmon.”
