New homes released for sale at popular Lydney development
05 July 2021
Leading housebuilder Persimmon Homes this week launched the second phase of a popular new development in Lydney, bringing another 250 properties to the town.
Persimmon has already completed 89 properties on phase one of the Bishops Mead development on Par Four Lane.
Work started on phase two in January – and the first homes are now available to purchase.
Persimmon is building a total of 347 houses at Bishops Mead.
Victoria Williams, sales director at Persimmon Homes East Wales, said: “This site launched two-and-a-half years ago and we’ve seen consistently strong sales ever since.
“We’re delighted to be in a position to release the first phase two homes onto the market, which is a huge boost from househunters in Lydney. We’ve seen the demand is high in this area after the success of phase one, so we’re expecting these properties to sell very quickly indeed.”
A mix of two, three and four-bedroom homes at being built on phase two, with prices from £189,995.
Just 20 miles from Bristol, Bishops Mead is creating more than 500 full-time jobs, based on figures from the House Builders Federation.
According to research by the Home Builders Federation, each home built creates 1.5 full time direct jobs. It is also estimated that at least twice that number of jobs is created in the supply chain.
In addition, the development will provide a massive boost to the local economy through the construction industry and its multiplier effect. For every £1 spent on housing £3 goes back into the economy.
Victoria added: “We have something for everyone, from first-time buyers making that exciting step onto the property ladder, to professionals, downsizers and families.”
