Next application for Didcot’s newest homes submitted

13 July 2025

One of the developers behind a major housing scheme in Oxfordshire has submitted its plans for the next 172 homes on site.

Persimmon Homes Wessex have handed their proposals for the fourth phase of construction at Valley Park in Didcot to Vale of White Horse District Council planners as they make progress at the development.

This latest tranche will be situated next to the primary school and Common Park that will be delivered in-line with the site’s outline planning permission, with 61 of the properties being transferred to a local housing association to meet housing need in the area.

The homes will also have access to an equipped playground – which already has planning permission as part of an earlier phase – and includes cycle connectivity to the green infrastructure corridors and access into Common Park.

It follows news from earlier this year that the developers behind Valley Park secured planning permission to deliver the site’s first primary school. Construction is due to commence this September, with the doors opening to pupils two years later.

The five-star developer has two, three, and four-bed homes for sale from £239,995 at Valley Park in western Didcot. All Persimmon properties here will be equipped with sustainable features including air source heat pumps, electric vehicle charging points, and solar panels.

Once complete, this new community will benefit from amenities including two primary schools, an SEN school, local centres, and sports facilities, all within easy reach of further shops, schools, restaurants and services in bustling Didcot.

Commenting, Persimmon Homes Wessex Managing Director Seb Spiller, said “Persimmon is proud to be submitting plans for the next phase of Valley Park, which marks another important milestone in delivering a vibrant, sustainable community for Didcot.

“These 172 new homes reflect our ongoing commitment to building high-quality homes that meet local need, while enhancing the wider area with green spaces, connectivity, and vital infrastructure. With construction underway on the first primary school and exciting progress across the site, Valley Park is taking shape as a place people will be proud to call home.”
