North Midlands development shortlisted for Placemaking Project of the Year
17 May 2023

Our North Midlands team is celebrating after being shortlisted for Placemaking Project of the Year at the Insider Midlands Residential Property Awards, thanks to their brilliant work on the Garendon Park development in Loughborough.
Being shortlisted puts Garendon Park among the top development projects across the Midlands. Judges commended the team’s work in ensuring placemaking and social value are at the forefront of the growing community – creating not only a desirable place to live, but also facilitating and empowering local enterprise, wellbeing and heritage.
Located on the northern edge of the Leicestershire town, the development will – upon completion – provide a mixed-use community with over 3,000 homes. Positioned on the wider Garendon Park estate, the team has placed a key focus on the preservation of the site’s historical monuments, including the remains of a 12th century Cisterican monastery, an 18th century Triumphal Arch and the White Lodge, which dates back to the 17th century.
Dan Endersby, Managing Director of Persimmon Homes North Midlands, said: "We're thrilled that Garendon Park has been nominated for Placemaking Project of the Year at the Insider Midlands Residential Property Awards.
“Through our ongoing work engaging with the people of Loughborough as well as local stakeholders, we’ve been able to integrate into the area effectively, bringing a sustainable extension to the town with a range of benefits to the wider community.
"Being nominated not only recognises the brilliant work we’re doing from a placemaking standpoint, but in particular, it is a massive accolade to the site team and contractors who are integral to building this vibrant, sustainable development.”
