North Midlands team gives £6,000 cash boost to Burbage Parish Church

A Burbage-based church has secured a £6,000 donation towards its refurbishment thanks to our North Midlands team. Burbage Parish Church received the funding boost as part of our Community Champions initiative.
St. Catherine's Burbage Parish Church which has stood in the centre of the village since the 13th century launched an appeal on Saturday 23rd March to raise £100,000 to save the spire which is gradually sinking and in need of repair, as well as to help to fund a glass partition between the church and the adjoining function room. It is also the ambition of the parish church to make the space more attractive to groups who might want to hire the function room. Our donation will contribute towards these refurbishment costs.
Fr Andrew Hall at Burbage Parish Church said: “We are so grateful for the generous donation that Persimmon Homes has made to the sustainability and improvement of our ancient and beautiful Parish Church.
“Our responsibility as custodians of this grade II listed building is to ensure that it remains open for worship and community use in the centre of our village and administer to the needs of the good people of Burbage, for future generations.
“This invaluable help has enabled us to move closer to achieving this goal and on behalf of all who benefit from having this amazing space in the heart of our village.”
Nadine O’Dowd, Sales Director at North Midlands region, said: “What we do is about much more than just building homes, it’s about leaving a lasting positive legacy in the communities that we build in. We’re always delighted to lend a hand to local charities and community groups to boost their ongoing initiatives or contribute to causes that mean a lot to them.”
“It’s an honour to be able to offer this support to Burbage Parish Church as the team work to refurbish this beautiful space.”
