North Midlands team offers £1,000 cash boost to Charnwood College

A Loughborough-based school has secured a £1,000 donation from our North Midlands team, helping them to fund new kits for their netball team.

Charnwood College received the funding as part of our Community Champions initiative. Since joining the David Ross Education Trust, Charnwood College has significantly expanded its extracurricular and enrichment opportunities.  Netball has particularly seen significant growth in both grass roots and elite participation helping more and more students discover their talents. Our donation towards this will allow more students to participate in their sport.

Alastair O’Connor, Executive Principal at Charnwood College, said "I am delighted by the generosity of Persimmon’s donation that will not only allow more students to participate in their chosen sport but they will be able to wear new kit with a sense of pride, belonging and community partnership.

Nadine O’Dowd, Sales Director at Persimmon Homes North Midlands, added “What we do is about much more than just building homes, it’s about leaving a lasting positive legacy in the communities that we build in. We’re always delighted to lend a hand to local schools to boost their ongoing initiatives or contribute to causes that mean a lot to them. It’s an honour to be able to offer this donation to Charnwood Collage, and we’re so pleased that the additional funding will allow the school to encourage more pupils to take part in netball.”
