North West region Donates 20,000 Bricks to North West Colleges

North West region has donated 10,000 bricks each to two North West colleges. The bricks each college have received is enough to build a 3-bedroom home.
Hugh Baird College in Bootle and Reaseheath College in Nantwich will use the bricks to provide students with the necessary materials to gain valuable hands-on experience as part of their training.
Persimmon works closely with local schools and colleges to showcase the range of careers available in construction and has approximately 500 apprentices and trainees nationally, including 50 in the North West.
The North West region at Persimmon has several live and upcoming sites across the North West, including in Liverpool, Maghull, Deeside, and Crewe. This year, the company secured approval for the Mersey View development in Bromborough, with work set to start in the new year.
Ben Davis, Head of Marketing and Admissions at Hugh Baird College, said: "This partnership is vital in providing our students with the practical materials they need to gain hands-on experience and build the essential skills required for successful careers in construction. We are proud to work with Persimmon in shaping the next generation of skilled professionals."
Andrew Gould, Curriculum Area Manager for Construction at Reaseheath College, added: "To receive this fabulous donation of bricks will have such a positive impact on all the Bricklaying students here at Reaseheath College. Donations like this help us to do those extra tasks that will really enhance the students' experience and help them toward being industry-focused and career-ready."
